Hirata expands location in Germany

Hirata Engineering Europe is expanding its location in Mainz in response to future development trends in the field of electromobility. Starting in May 2019, part of the design and manufacturing will move to a new location in Mainz-Hechtsheim. The entire Powertrain division, which deals with the planning, design and manufacture of systems for the production of transmissions, motors and batteries for the automotive industry, will move into its own hall with adjoining offices. On more than 2,500 m² of office and production space, more than 30 of the total of 65 employees will realise turnkey complete plants in future, such as a fully automatic assembly plant for drive components of electric vehicles, on the industrial estate of Mainz-Hechtsheim. Hirata already has a high level of knowledge and experience in the field of electric vehicle production. In recent years, various projects have been successfully implemented for the powertrain sector, partly with the support of the head office located in Japan.

Special machine construction with complete and partial systems for small parts assembly and palletising as well as the production of semi-standard products will remain at the previous location in Mainz-Gonsenheim.
