Auto Stocker
For automatic production systems a parts feeder to robot is one of an important element. If orientation and position of workpieces are not accurate, automatic system will not run efficiently. Frequently, sensitive or odd-shaped parts are not suitable for bowl feeders and vision systems will not be economical solution. These parts should be presented by trays which are available in the market and easy to transfer an reuse.

Hirata’s Auto Stocker solves your tray feeding problem economically. The Auto Stocker is designed as tray changing system to palletize or depalletize workpieces by robot. Its accurate positioning, fast tray change time and sufficient storage of trays meet the requirement of your automaticAuto Stocker Scheme production system. The typical applications for the Auto Stocker are for assembly operation, palletizing for injection molding machines and loading/unloading workpieces for machine tools.

If the buffer capacity of two piles of full trays and one pile of empty trays not enough you can attach additional buffer segments to the basic tray feeder. If a pile of full trays is heavier than 15 kg in case of frequent tray change respectively maximal 25 kg in case of once in a while it is forbitten by law that the operator carries the tray stack.  In such cases it is possible to add on a docking station for a cart which feeds in and out the the trays. In the full automated version of the tray feeder you can connect the Autostocker with an AGV.

Other options are also available like a linking conveyor between to trayfeeder in order to transport the empty trays from one Autostocker to the other without access of an operator. Both trayfeeder are served by a SCARA robot which empties and fills the trays.

Special types of the Autostocker complete our product range. E.g. the "Trolleystocker"  picks the upper tray of a pile by motor driven linear axes of a XZ-handling device and can move the tray to any position within its working area. A second YZ-system can pick or place the work piece from the tray. If the tray is finished the handling device place the tray on the top of a second pile. The trays are feed in and out through trolleys or cart. The trolleystocker will be used in case of large trays and work piece.

Features

High efficiency

  • The Auto Stocker with Hirata’s SCARA or cartesian robot performs not only simple loading/unloading but also precise assembly
  • Standard tray sizes are 400 x 300 to 800 x 600 mm with max. load 100 kg

Space saving

  • The vertical flow of the tray saves the space and many trays can be stacked with optional conveyors.

Full automation

  • Combination with Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) completes the full automatic system.
